Urban Fare

The part of town we live in is called Yaletown and it has a reputation for being rather posh. I get a little embarrassed when people ask where we live. I feel like saying NO we're not rich, we just found a cool apartment that we liked, in our price range and it's close to work OK! anyhow the closest supermarket to our house is AMAZING (but pricey). You want 50 different types of organic bread to choose from, come here! It is so beautiful and they play awesome funky music, the people working are nice AND helpful, you can even go there for a meal.

Anyways heres some snaps of Neo and I doing exciting stuff like grocery shopping and buying exciting things like toilet paper.

After doing our exciting grocery shop we went to the Winklers for a week late Thanks Giving dinner and boy was it worth the wait! Thanks Janet it was DELICIOUS!!!! and thanks Alea for the nummy organic veges! and Chase and Sady for all the snuggles

A good ol' touristy day in Gas Town

I can't believe that we've been in Vancouver this long and not posted a picture of the famous Steam Clock in Gas Town.

We then had lunch in the sun at THE OLD SPAGHETTI FACTORY. I had been telling Neo about it for ages because I remember going there with my parents as a kid. Walking into the restaurant brought back a flood of memories!

When we asked if we could sit outside they said that the patio was closed but they could open a table for us which was nice. So we had the whole outside area to chill by ourselves.
After I finished my wine a little bug flew into it and was drowning in the tiny remains of wine left in the bottom of my glass. I made it my mission to save the bug. You can't tell so well here but it's belly was bright red from the red wine it must have gulped down while it was drowning. I am pleased to say I successfully saved it, I don't know if it later died from a chronic hangover however.

What a freakin awesome fish tank. I want one for our house. But lets be real we all know our fish will die because we can't be bothered cleaning it!

The Persian Tea House

Round the corner from our house is this cute little Persian Tea House where you go to drink tea and smoke a Hookah. We had apple flavour...mmmmmmm.

The guy there is so funny and says things like "What would you like my beautiful young lady" & "anything for you beautiful lady" in his fresh Persian accent.

It was pretty hilarious, he picked up my bright pink snow fairy lipgloss and said "what is this" I replied "for your lips" he said "can I use, I burnt my hand" I tried to tell him that it was pink but he didn't seem to get it so in he dove with his finger and rubbed it on his hand! haha, he didn't seem to notice that he had a bright pink tinge to his hand.

A dreary fall day in Vancouver City

So today is a dreary day. I feel like being indoors and relaxing. Poor Neo was working until 1am so he's still sleeping, what a perfect opportunity to get the blog up-to-date. I have a new mission once it's up to date and that's to keep it that way by updating nearly daily rather than blogging a bunch at once. We'll see how it goes.

Olivia's flying visit to Vancouver

so my Cousin Olivia has been travelling in England but she was back in Vancouver very briefly to pick up her visa for France....heres some snaps of our catch up with her.

Our adventure to Langley

So....we decided it was a great idea to hire a car and drive an hour east to Langley so we could go to a drive in movie....well after battling through rush hour traffic and then being directed off the highway (the only way we knew how to get to Langley was taking the highway btw) by a cop because there had been an accident and our GPS and Iphone both dying we were beginning to think it was not such a great idea!

However after finding a little store we finally figured out how to get to the drive in movie and it was AWESOME!!!!

It was totally freaky driving over here... I was terrified and I realised as I was driving that I didn't really know the road rules...but I managed to stay on the right side of the road and we're still alive!!!

As usual the morning started with coffee....Starbucks coffee (sorry Coffee Culture but you're not in Canada)!

Then we paid a man to borrow his tandem bike....he called it the "break up bike" because if the back rider thinks the front rider is going to turn and they lean it puts the whole bike out of balance....it's ok...we're fine :0)
After convincing Neo that he looked cool in a helmet here we are.....
We even saw a seal...that was pretty cool
