Camera Jam

So my cousin Luke came to stay with us for a few days awhile back so we could all go to Fright Night (pics and more of this to come). One night we ended up at Mais house for a couple drinks. Mai had recently purchased a flash new camera (she had previously been taking pics only on her iphone....poor Mai) so our visit turned into a bit of a photo session, and here's the results!

This is me, Mai and her new camera.
Neo...being Neo

There was a pretty intense discussion going on here about how you could somehow take a picture to make it look like the flowing water is not moving (or something). I thought because your taking a still picture the water couldn't possibly look like it was moving anyways? Apparently I just don't get it.
Does this water look like it's still or moving to you?
What about now...oh oops the waters not on.

So when Neo and I were looking at purchasing cameras I really wanted one that you could adjust the shutter time (I think thats the correct terminology) on so that you could do this affect....and we did it! fun!!

Amsterdam Cafe

This is Edric and Neo. Edric is Neo's work buddy from GAP. He's funny and makes me laugh!
I like this picture!

My Mum is so cute!

I just got off Skype with my Mum. Her computer skills have progressed very rapidly since I've been away and she now can turn the computer on, start Skype and call me! I'm proud of ya Mum!
She makes me laugh so much every time we go to hang up, she's always like "oh I hate this bit" "hang on what I have I forgotten to tell you" (*I know your just stalling because you don't wanna hang up Mum*) and tonight she said "I hate this bit, it's like your murdering someone, just cutting them off" haha you're the best Mum.

Dad of course was out doing his third session of daily exercise! Dad your crazy! I wish I had some of your motivation!! stay home once I awhile so I can chat to you too would ya!....love ya.

Love you guys!! xoxoxoxo

My Birthday...yes thats how behind I am on my blogging

So I actually had to work all day on the day of my Birthday so the celebrations were kept to a minimum however I had set my alarm to get up at 9am for work but for some reason it went of at 8am, I was like "that's weird, I must have set it wrong" and Neo was like "mmm...I'm going to the toilet" and I fell back asleep. Next thing I know I'm waking up to Neo bringing me coffee, bacon, eggs and french toast. Whada sweetie!

Right now I'm glad that my hair is big so it covers my early morning, pre-shower and makeup face in this pic.
and then he picked me up from work with these cute little stickers he'd made for me to post up round the city. They have a bit more a meaning than most of you will know, BUT all will be revealed soon!!
Birthday wishes from ma' Gran.
and Souvelakis (hmmm... is this spelling correct??)

Double Down!

Ok, so I didn't get quite as far as I wanted to with catching up on my blog the other day. The reason for venturing out in the cold, dreary day was a good one though.

and here was the motivation...

The DOUBLE DOWN.
Here's what KFC says about it
"The new KFC Double Down sandwich is real! This one-of-a-kind sandwich features two thick and juicy boneless white meat chicken filets (Original Recipe® or Grilled), two pieces of bacon, two melted slices of Monterey Jack and pepper jack cheese and Colonel's Sauce. This product is so meaty, there’s no room for a bun!"

Sadly we were disappointed with the Double Down. Neo gave it a 4 out of 10 but then later downgraded it to a 3 out of 10. KFC in Canada just aint as good as NZ!

moving right along....

Fall in Canada is so beautiful. Heres a picture I took of some trees across from our building, the colors amazing!

After coffee in Gastown we stumbled across this kickass record store, Neo was in heaven.

Urban Fare

The part of town we live in is called Yaletown and it has a reputation for being rather posh. I get a little embarrassed when people ask where we live. I feel like saying NO we're not rich, we just found a cool apartment that we liked, in our price range and it's close to work OK! anyhow the closest supermarket to our house is AMAZING (but pricey). You want 50 different types of organic bread to choose from, come here! It is so beautiful and they play awesome funky music, the people working are nice AND helpful, you can even go there for a meal.

Anyways heres some snaps of Neo and I doing exciting stuff like grocery shopping and buying exciting things like toilet paper.

After doing our exciting grocery shop we went to the Winklers for a week late Thanks Giving dinner and boy was it worth the wait! Thanks Janet it was DELICIOUS!!!! and thanks Alea for the nummy organic veges! and Chase and Sady for all the snuggles

A good ol' touristy day in Gas Town

I can't believe that we've been in Vancouver this long and not posted a picture of the famous Steam Clock in Gas Town.
We then had lunch in the sun at THE OLD SPAGHETTI FACTORY. I had been telling Neo about it for ages because I remember going there with my parents as a kid. Walking into the restaurant brought back a flood of memories!

When we asked if we could sit outside they said that the patio was closed but they could open a table for us which was nice. So we had the whole outside area to chill by ourselves.
After I finished my wine a little bug flew into it and was drowning in the tiny remains of wine left in the bottom of my glass. I made it my mission to save the bug. You can't tell so well here but it's belly was bright red from the red wine it must have gulped down while it was drowning. I am pleased to say I successfully saved it, I don't know if it later died from a chronic hangover however.
The inside of the Old Spaghetti Factory. It's quite charming!
What a freakin awesome fish tank. I want one for our house. But lets be real we all know our fish will die because we can't be bothered cleaning it!

Down a long dark back ally we found....

Some cool art!

This one was made for Neo to have his pic taken with. It totally goes with his red shoes!

The Persian Tea House

Round the corner from our house is this cute little Persian Tea House where you go to drink tea and smoke a Hookah. We had apple flavour...mmmmmmm.

The guy there is so funny and says things like "What would you like my beautiful young lady" & "anything for you beautiful lady" in his fresh Persian accent.

It was pretty hilarious, he picked up my bright pink snow fairy lipgloss and said "what is this" I replied "for your lips" he said "can I use, I burnt my hand" I tried to tell him that it was pink but he didn't seem to get it so in he dove with his finger and rubbed it on his hand! haha, he didn't seem to notice that he had a bright pink tinge to his hand.

The big steamy smoke made for some really cool pics!

A dreary fall day in Vancouver City

So today is a dreary day. I feel like being indoors and relaxing. Poor Neo was working until 1am so he's still sleeping, what a perfect opportunity to get the blog up-to-date. I have a new mission once it's up to date and that's to keep it that way by updating nearly daily rather than blogging a bunch at once. We'll see how it goes.

Here's what it looks like outside today.
